3 lbs beef round steak , cut 1/3 to 1/2 - inch thick
12 ounces fine breadcrumbs
2 garlic cloves , chopped
1 tablespoon parsley flakes
2 tablespoons romano cheese
1 teaspoon salt

3/4 cup oil
3 1/2 cups tomatoes , drained and chopped
2 garlic cloves , chopped

Instructions

1.Preheat oven to 375°F.
2.In a mixing bowl, combine the breadcrumbs, garlic, parsley, romano cheese, salt, and pepper to make the seasoned breadcrumbs.
3.In a separate bowl, mix together the tomatoes, garlic, romano cheese, oregano, salt, and pepper to make the sauce.
4.Heat 1/4 cup oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Cook the beef, in batches, until browned on both sides. Repeat with remaining beef and oil.
5.In a large baking dish, arrange 1/3 of the meat in a layer. Spread half the sauce over the meat. Top with 1/3 of the seasoned breadcrumbs. Repeat another layer of meat, sauce, and the remaining breadcrumbs. Place the last layer of meat on top.
6.Cover the dish with aluminum foil and bake for 1 hour.
7.Remove the foil and bake for another 15-20 minutes until the breadcrumbs are lightly browned.
