Ingredients

500 g shrimp
1 pinch salt
1 pinch pepper
1 pinch turmeric
1 1/2 basmati rice
3 small red onions , sliced
1 1/2 teaspoons fresh garlic paste
1 teaspoon fresh ginger paste
1 medium tomatoes , diced
2 green chilies ( optional )
1/4 cup coriander , chopped
1 cup hot water
3 cardamom pods
5 peppercorns
3 bay leaves
2 cloves
1 cinnamon stick
1 dried lime
1 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon cumin
1/2 teaspoon ground ginger
1/4 teaspoon ground cilantro
1/2 teaspoon Arabic spices
1/4 teaspoon cardamom
1/4 teaspoon turmeric
Shrimp Machboos is a traditional dish in the Arabian Gulf region, particularly in Kuwait and Bahrain. It's a flavorful twist on the traditional rice pilaf, with tangy and savory notes that come from the blend of spices used in the recipe. Machboos is a popular dish served at weddings and other celebrations, and it is a staple in many households. Instructions

1.Marinate the shrimp in salt, pepper, and turmeric for about 30 minutes.
2.Rinse the rice thoroughly and soak in water for at least 20 minutes.
3.Heat oil in a pan and fry the sliced onions until golden brown.
4.Add garlic paste and ginger paste to the pan and fry for a minute.
5.Put tomatoes, green chilies, coriander, and the marinated shrimp into the pan and fry for a few minutes.
6.Add hot water and all the spices (cardamom, peppercorns, bay leaves, cloves, cinnamon stick, dried lime, salt, cumin, ground ginger, ground cilantro, Arabic spices, cardamom, and turmeric).
7.Drain the soaked rice and add it to the pan. Mix well.
8.Cover the pan and cook on low heat until the rice is cooked and the shrimp are tender (approximately 30 minutes).
9.Once done, remove from heat, fluff the rice with a fork, and let it rest for 5 minutes before serving.
