Ingredients

8 ounces scallops
1 cup onion , chopped
2 garlic cloves , minced ( I actually use 6 )
1/2 teaspoon fennel seed , crushed
1/4 teaspoon red pepper flakes , crushed
1 ounce pancetta , diced
30 ounces diced tomatoes ( I use canned with Italian seasoning )
2 tablespoons fresh basil , chopped

Instructions

1.In a large skillet, heat olive oil over medium-high heat.
2.Add onion and garlic, fennel seed, red pepper flakes, and pancetta to the skillet. Cook and stir until the onion becomes translucent and pancetta is crispy.
3.Add diced tomatoes to the skillet and stir well. Reduce heat to low and simmer for 10 minutes.
4.Add the shrimp and scallops to the skillet. Cook for an additional 5 to 7 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the seafood is cooked through.
5.Just before serving, sprinkle chopped fresh basil on top of the dish.
