Ingredients

1/4 cup lemon juice
1/4 cup vegetable oil
3/4 cup plain yogurt
4 cloves garlic , minced
2 teaspoons tomato paste
1 1/2 teaspoons salt
1 teaspoon dried oregano
1/4 teaspoon ground black pepper
1/4 teaspoon ground allspice
1/4 teaspoon ground cinnamon
1/8 teaspoon ground cardamom
2 pounds skinless , boneless chicken breast halves - cut into 2 inch pieces
2 onions , cut into large chunks
1 large green bell pepper , cut into large chunks
1 cup chopped fresh flat-leaf parsley
Shish Tawook is a popular Middle Eastern dish that originated in Lebanon. Instructions

1.In a large bowl, whisk together lemon juice, vegetable oil, yogurt, garlic, tomato paste, salt, oregano, black pepper, allspice, cinnamon, and cardamom.
2.Add chicken to the marinade and toss to coat. Cover and refrigerate for at least 2 hours or up to 24 hours.
3.Preheat grill to medium-high heat. Thread chicken, onions, and bell peppers onto skewers.
4.Grill for 6 to 8 minutes per side, or until the chicken is cooked through and the vegetables are tender.
5.Serve hot sprinkled with fresh parsley.
