Ingredients

1/2 kg finely minced mutton
4 tablespoons bengal gram dal
4 dried red chilies
4 green chilies
1 1/2 tablespoons ginger-garlic paste
1 tablespoon garam masala
salt
2 tablespoons finely chopped coriander
2 tablespoons finely chopped mint leaves
1 egg , lightly beaten
oil , for shallow frying
Shammi Kababs are a famous North Indian street food snack made with minced meat and lentils. The kababs are said to have originated from the Mughal era in India and were introduced in the Indian subcontinent by Afghani cooks. Instructions

1.Soak Bengal gram dal and red chillies together in water for few hours.
2.Now, in a mixer, grind the soaked dal and chilies together to form a smooth paste.
3.In a mixing bowl, add the minced meat, ginger-garlic paste, garam masala, salt, chopped green chilies, coriander, mint leaves, egg and the prepared dal paste.
4.Mix all of the ingredients together and leave it to marinate for some time.
5.Heat oil in a pan on medium flame.
6.Take some mixture, roll it in your hands to form small balls, and then flatten it.
7.Place the kababs in the pan and cook for 2 minutes.
8.Once they turn golden brown, flip to the other side and cook until crispy.
9.Serve hot with mint sauce and onion rings.
