Ingredients

3 tablespoons vegetable oil
2 bay leaves
1 cinnamon stick
4 green cardamom pods
4 cloves
1 teaspoon cumin seed
2 medium onions , finely chopped
1 teaspoon ginger , grated
2 garlic cloves , chopped
4 skinless chicken breasts , and chopped into 1/2 inch pieces
1/4 teaspoon ground turmeric
1/4 teaspoon chili powder ( to taste )
1/4 teaspoon salt
30 g cashew nuts , ground
150 ml plain yogurt , whipped
1 tablespoon chopped coriander leaves

Instructions

1.Heat oil in a large pan.
2.Add bay leaves, cinnamon stick, green cardamom pods, cloves and cumin seeds. Fry until fragrant.
3.Add onions, ginger and garlic. Cook until onions are golden brown.
4.Add chicken, turmeric, chili powder, and salt. Cook for 5 minutes.
5.Add 1/2 cup of water. Cover and simmer for 15 minutes.
6.Stir in ground cashew nuts and whipped yogurt. Simmer for another 5 minutes.
7.Garnish with coriander leaves and serve hot.
