Ingredients

2 packages extra firm tofu , drained , pressed , sliced & deep fried
1 -3 teaspoon vegetable oil
3 medium onions , sliced into 1/4-inch thick half rounds
2 tablespoons minced garlic
1 tablespoon crushed red pepper flakes ( spice to taste )
8 dried arbol chilies , leave whole ( spice to taste )
6 cups flash frozen green beans
1/2 cup water
1/8 cup Chinese barbecue sauce ( sha cha sauce )
1/8 cup soy sauce
2 teaspoons rice wine
2 teaspoons sugar
1 teaspoon salt
Sha Cha Tofu with Green Beans and Onions is a delicious vegan dish that incorporates the Chinese barbecue sauce known as sha cha sauce. Instructions

1.Cut the tofu into bite-sized cubes and deep fry them until golden brown.
2.Heat up a wok or large skillet over medium-high heat with vegetable oil. Add the sliced onions, garlic, crushed red pepper flakes, and dried arbol chilies. Saute until the onions are caramelized and the spices are fragrant.
3.Add the frozen green beans and water to the wok. Cover and stir occasionally until the green beans are cooked through.
4.Add the Chinese barbecue sauce, soy sauce, rice wine, sugar, and salt. Mix well.
5.Add the fried tofu cubes to the wok and stir until the sauce is evenly distributed.
6.Serve hot with steamed rice.
