1/2 lb butter
salt , to taste
pepper , to taste
8 chicken thighs
2 cups basmati rice

Instructions

1.Preheat the oven to 350°F.
2.Rinse the rice in cold water until the water runs clear.
3.Soak the raisins and barberries in cold water for 10 minutes, then drain them.
4.Slice the onions into thin strips and fry them in a large pan with 1/2 lb butter for 20-25 minutes until they are golden brown. Remove and set aside.

7.In a large dutch oven, layer the chicken on the bottom, followed by the rice, and then the raisins and barberries. Repeat the layering until all ingredients are used up, ending with a layer of raisins and barberries.
8.Cover the dutch oven and bake in the oven for 1 hour.
9.Remove from the oven and serve topped with the fried onions.
