1 cup water
1/2 lb sauerkraut
3 tablespoons flour
2 tablespoons lard
1 cup sour cream

Instructions

1.In a large pot, heat up the shortening and brown the chopped onions.

4.Add the sauerkraut and continue simmering for another 30 minutes.
5.In a separate small saucepan, melt the lard and mix in the flour to create a roux. Add this mixture into the pot and let it simmer for another 10 minutes.
6.Take the pot off the heat and stir in the sour cream. Serve hot with crusty bread.
