Ingredients

1 lb flank steak
2 tablespoons tamari soy sauce
1 teaspoon granulated sugar
2 teaspoons dark sesame oil
1 tablespoon finely grated fresh ginger
1 large garlic clove , minced
1 tablespoon peanut oil
1/2 cup seasoned rice wine vinegar
1/4 cup tamari soy sauce
2 teaspoons very finely grated fresh ginger
2 teaspoons sriracha chili sauce or 2 teaspoons other fiery hot sauce
2 cups sushi rice
2 cups cold water
1 pinch salt
4 tablespoons seasoned rice wine vinegar
1/2 ripe avocado
1 large plum tomato
1 large green onion
1 medium carrot
4 sheets toasted nori
1 package prepared japanese horseradish ( 43 g , wasabi )
Seared Beef Sushi is an innovative sushi twist that still retains the traditional flavors and essence of Japanese sushi. Tender slices of succulent beef combined with aromatic ginger and sesame oil, married in the perfect texture of seasoned sushi rice with a hint of tang from the vinegar dipping sauce guarantees a memorable and delightful culinary journey, perfect for date nights and dinner parties with friends and family.

Instructions

1.Preheat oven to 425°F (220°C) and place the flank steak onto a baking sheet.
2.Sprinkle tamari soy sauce, sugar, sesame oil, ginger, and garlic over the steak, then bake it for 12-15 minutes depending on the desired doneness.
3.While the steak is cooking, rinse the sushi rice using cold water and soak for 30 minutes. Drain well.
4.Put the rice and 2 cups of cold water in a pot with a pinch of salt and bring to a boil. Cover the pot and simmer until the water is absorbed and the rice is cooked through, roughly 20 minutes.
5.Mix in seasoned rice vinegar and let the rice cool.
6.In a small bowl, mix rice vinegar, tamari soy sauce, ginger, and chili sauce for the dipping sauce.
7.Cut the avocado, tomato, green onion, and carrot into thin slices.
8.Put one sheet of nori over the sushi mat, shiny side down.
9.Spread 1/2 cup of cooked sushi rice evenly over the nori sheet.
10.Arrange beef, vegetables, and wasabi onto the rice, forming a line across the center.
11.Roll the sushi tightly from the bottom edge up.
12.Repeat the process with the remaining nori sheets and filling.
