Ingredients

4 tablespoons butter
4 aberdeen angus beef steak fillets ( or sirloin steaks )
salt & freshly ground black pepper , to taste
4 tablespoons good Scotch whisky ( such as Laphroaig )
1 teaspoon scottish heather honey ( optional )
1 cup heavy cream
1/2 cup beef stock
4 ounces cleaned sliced fresh mushrooms ( button or wild )
4 tablespoons chopped green onions ( optional )
2 -3 teaspoons coarse grain mustard
2 tablespoons snipped fresh parsley , to garnish
fresh edible flower , to decorate ( purple heather )
This Scottish Steak Balmoral is a traditional Scottish dish named after Balmoral Castle in Aberdeenshire. It features Aberdeen Angus beef steak fillets topped with a flavorful Laphroaig whiskey sauce, which perfectly complements the richness of the meat. Instructions

1.In a large skillet, melt the butter over medium-high heat.
2.Season the steak fillets with salt and pepper, then place them in the skillet.
3.Cook for 3-4 minutes on each side for medium-rare, or until the desired doneness is achieved.
4.Remove the steak from the skillet and put it on a warmed platter.
5.In the same skillet, add the Scotch whisky and heather honey (if desired) and stir for 1 minute.
6.Add the cream, beef stock, sliced mushrooms, and green onions (if using). Stir and cook for around 5-7 minutes to reduce the sauce.
7.Add the coarse grain mustard and stir.
8.Pour the sauce over the steak and garnish with parsley and edible flowers. Serve immediately.
