Ingredients

2 lbs aberdeen angus boneless sirloin steaks
1 large yellow onion , sliced
1/2 cup beef broth or 1/2 cup beef stock
2 teaspoons olive oil
1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
3 cloves garlic , crushed
1/4 cup blue cheese
1 teaspoon green peppercorn
1/4 cup flour
6 medium new potatoes
1/2 cup scottish ale ( NOT BEER ! )
parsley ( to garnish )

Instructions

1.Preheat oven to 375°F.
2.Pat steak dry, season with salt and pepper.
3.Heat olive oil in a skillet, cook the steak for 5-7 minutes for medium rare, and remove it from skillet.
4.Add onions, garlic and flour to the skillet, cook for 2-3 minutes until onions become soft.
5.Stir in beef broth and Worcestershire sauce, add green peppercorns, and let it simmer for 5 minutes.
6.Slice the steak and put it in the oven-proof dish.
7.Pour the onion mixture over the steak and bake it for 10 minutes.
8.Boil potatoes for 20-25 minutes, mash it with blue cheese and Scottish ale.
9.Serve steak with onion mixture over bleu cheese potatoes, and garnish with parsley.
