Often served with traditional sides such as potato salad or coleslaw, Schweinsteak is a staple at outdoor gatherings and picnics. While this dish may not be the healthiest option, it's a crowd-pleaser and perfect for a sunny day spent outside with friends and family.

PROS

Schweinsteak is easy to prepare and perfect for a summer time barbecue.
The tenderized pork filets absorb the marinade and make for a flavorful and juicy entree.

CONS

If you’re looking for a lean cut of meat, Schweinsteak may not be the best option as it has a higher fat content.
Additionally, grilled meats have been linked to increased risk of certain cancers.

HEALTH & BENEFITS

While Schweinsteak is not the healthiest option, it does provide a good source of protein. Pork is also high in thiamine, a B-vitamin that helps boost energy and metabolism. If you’re looking to trim some of the fat, choose pork tenderloin over pork shoulder or pork belly.
