2 cups applesauce , divided

Instructions

1.Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
2.In a saucepan, melt the butter over medium heat. Add the breadcrumbs, sugar, and cinnamon, and cook until the mixture is slightly browned, stirring constantly, for around 3-5 minutes.
3.Press the breadcrumb mixture into the bottom of an 8-inch (round or square) cake pan.
4.Spread 1 and 1/2 cups of applesauce over the breadcrumb mixture. Dot with butter.
5.Spread the remaining 1/2 cup of applesauce over the top of the cake.
6.Bake for 35-40 minutes, until the edges of the cake are golden brown and the center is set.
