Ingredients

1 tablespoon olive oil
2 onions , chopped
3 garlic cloves , crushed
1 kg lean ground lamb
1 tablespoon pepper
2 tablespoons ground cumin
1 teaspoon ground allspice
2 tablespoons dried mint
1 bunch of fresh mint , chopped ( reserve a few sprigs for garnish )
1 pinch cayenne pepper
2 tablespoons pomegranate molasses
50 g toasted pine nuts ( reserve a few to garnish )

Instructions

1.Heat olive oil in a large pan over medium-high heat.
2.Add onions and garlic, and sauté until they soften.
3.Add the lamb and cook, stirring frequently, until browned.
4.Add the pepper, cumin, allspice, dried mint, fresh mint, cayenne pepper, and pomegranate molasses. Mix well.
5.Add a pinch of salt and continue cooking for 5-10 minutes until the lamb is cooked through.
6.Sprinkle with toasted pine nuts and reserved fresh mint, and serve hot with steamed rice or bread.
