Ingredients

1/4 - 1/3 cup all-purpose flour ( For gluten free I prefer the larger amount of flour , I use a mix of white rice flour and half the am )
1 1/2 cups soft dates , pitted and chopped
4 tablespoons unsalted butter
1/2 teaspoon cardamom , ground
1/2 cup walnuts , chopped
1 1/2 teaspoons brown sugar
Saudi Date Sweet is a traditional dessert in Saudi Arabia that is often served during the Muslim holy month of Ramadan. It is made by mixing pitted dates, flour, butter, cardamom, and chopped walnuts to form a sticky batter, which is then baked until golden brown. Instructions

1.Preheat the oven to 350°F (180°C).
2.In a mixing bowl, combine the flour, dates, and chopped walnuts.
3.In a small saucepan, melt the butter over medium heat.
4.Add brown sugar and ground cardamom to the melted butter, then pour the mixture over the dry ingredients in the mixing bowl.
5.Mix everything well with a spoon until a thick and sticky batter is formed. If the mixture is too thin, add a little more flour.
6.Grease an 8-inch baking dish and pour the batter into it.
7.Use a spoon or spatula to level the surface and ensure that the mixture is spread evenly.
8.Bake for 15-20 minutes, or until the top is nicely browned.
9.Remove from the oven and let cool for 5-10 minutes before serving.
