Ingredients

2 tablespoons ground mustard
1 teaspoon ground turmeric
water
1/4 cup mustard oil ( any cooking oil may be substituted )
1 large onion , grated
1 1/2 lbs shrimp , shelled and deveined
1 tablespoon hot green chili pepper , minced
1 teaspoon salt

Instructions

1.In a bowl, mix ground mustard, ground turmeric and enough water to form a paste.
2.In a pan, heat oil over medium-high heat and add grated onion; saute until golden brown.
3.Add green chili pepper to the pan and cook for a minute.
4.Add the shrimp to the pan and cook for a few minutes until they start to turn pink.
5.Add the mustard paste and salt to the pan; mix well and cook until the shrimp are done.
6.Serve hot with rice or bread.
