It is a delicious way to use up leftovers, and the addition of onions, gravy, and port wine or sherry gives it a rich, savory flavor that is perfect for a hearty main dish. However, as with many meat-based dishes, it is not suitable for vegetarians or vegans.

Instructions

1.Finely slice the onions and fry them in unsalted butter until softened.
2.Add the plain flour to the onions, stir to combine, and cook for a couple of minutes.
3.Slowly add the leftover gravy, stirring constantly to prevent lumps.
4.Add the port wine or sherry, Worcestershire sauce, white wine vinegar, and liquid gravy browner.
5.Season the mixture with salt and pepper to taste.
6.Add the chopped parsley and the rare roast beef to the mixture and stir well.
