1/2 cup walnuts , coarsely chopped and lightly toasted
1/4 cup currants
3/4 teaspoon pepper
3 cups almonds , finely ground
1 1/2 cups sugar
2 teaspoons cardamom
1/4 teaspoon saffron , dissolved in 1 tablespoon of water
2 tablespoons rose water

Instructions

10.Preheat the oven to 375°F.
11.Roll out each dough portion into a thin circle.
12.Add 2 tablespoons of the beef mixture on one side of the circle.
13.Fold the other side of the dough over the filling.
14.Seal the edges with a fork.
15.Repeat the process with the remaining dough portions and filling.
16.Brush the turnovers with olive oil and bake for 20-25 minutes or until golden brown. Serve hot or cold.
