185 g butter
75 g caster sugar
250 g plain flour

Salted Caramel Shortbread is a decadent dessert that is perfect for those with a sweet tooth. Instructions

1.Preheat the oven to 180C/160C fan/gas mark 4. Lightly grease and line an 18cm square cake tin.
2.In a large bowl, cream together the butter and sugar until light and fluffy. Then sieve in the flour and mix well.
3.Press this mixture into the prepared tin and bake for 20 minutes, or until golden brown.
4.Just before the shortbread comes out the oven, place the butter, sugar, golden syrup and condensed milk into a saucepan and heat gently, stirring continuously, until the butter has melted and the sugar has dissolved.
5.Pour this over the hot shortbread and bake for another 10 minutes.
6.Allow to cool, then sprinkle with sea salt and melted milk chocolate.
7.Leave at room temperature to set before cutting into squares.
