Ingredients

1 1/2 cups dried salt cod fish
3 large potatoes
1 garlic clove , finely minced
1 teaspoon dried lemon-dill seasoning ( or 1 tsp . dried dill plus 1/2 tsp . lemon zest )
2 egg whites
canola oil ( for frying )

Instructions

1.In a large bowl, soak the dried salt cod fish overnight to remove the excess salt.
2.Drain the water and rinse the cod fish several times.
3.Boil the potatoes until they are tender and easy to mash.
4.Flake the cod by removing the bones and shred.
5.In a mixing bowl, place the shredded cod fish and mashed potatoes, mix well.
6.Add the finely minced garlic, dried lemon-dill seasoning, and egg whites to the mixing bowl and combine it well.
7.Heat the canola oil in a large frying pan on medium heat
8.Scoop out a spoonful of mixture at a time and shape them into small balls.
9.Fry the balls in the hot oil until golden brown.
10.Place them on a paper towel to drain the excess oil.
