6 large tomatoes
3 serrano chile peppers , stemmed , or to taste
3 cloves garlic , peeled
3 dried California chile peppers , stemmed and seeded

1/4 onion

Instructions

1.In a large pot of boiling water, cook the tomatoes, Serrano peppers, garlic, and dried California chili peppers until soft, about 10 minutes.

3.In a large skillet, heat oil over medium heat. Add flour and cook for 1 minute, stirring constantly. Gradually add pureed tomato mixture to the skillet, whisking constantly to prevent lumps.
4.Continue cooking the salsa, stirring occasionally, until it thickens to your liking, about 10 minutes.
5.Season the salsa with salt to taste.
