2 packages lemon pudding mix or ( 3 1/3 ounce ) packages lemon mousse mix
2 1/2 pints fresh strawberries
1/3 cup granulated sugar
1/4 cup water
1 butter pound cake or ( 16 ounce ) angel food cake
3 cups whipped cream

Instructions

1.In a large bowl, mix the 1/2 cup sugar and lemon juice until sugar dissolves.
2.Follow instructions on lemon pudding or mousse mix packaging and prepare it well. Then, add it to the bowl with sugar and lemon juice.
3.Cut strawberries into small pieces, while reserving 10-12 full strawberries for garnishing.
4.In a small saucepan on medium heat, heat water and 1/3 cup sugar until sugar dissolves. Add cut strawberries and stir to mix well. Cook for 3-4 minutes and set aside to cool.
5.Cut the pound cake or angel food cake into small pieces and place them at the base of the trifle dish.
6.Add a layer of strawberries on top of the cake, then a layer of lemon pudding/mousse, then a layer of whipped cream. Repeat the layers, finishing with a top layer of whipped cream.
7.Garnish the top of the trifle with the reserved strawberries. Chill for a few hours before serving.
