3/4 cup white rice
1/3 cup vermicelli , broken into 1/2 inch pieces
2 cups chicken broth
1 tablespoon butter or 1 tablespoon margarine
1 pinch saffron
2 tablespoons slivered almonds
1 teaspoon seasoning salt

Instructions

3.Add the dry rice, chicken broth, and saffron to the pan. Mix ingredients well, then cover and simmer for 15-20 minutes until the liquid is fully absorbed, and rice is cooked.
4.Meanwhile, in a small skillet over medium heat, toast the slivered almonds until golden brown, stirring frequently for around 2-3 minutes.
5.Once done, let the rice sit for 5 minutes, then fluff it with a fork. Add seasoning salt and toasted almonds. Mix well and serve hot.
