Ingredients

1 cup white rice
2 cups water
3 cups milk
1 cup sugar ( adjust to desired sweetness )
1/4 teaspoon cinnamon , and or 1/4 teaspoon nutmeg , according to taste
1/2 cup raisins ( optional )
1 teaspoon rose water ( optional ) or 1 teaspoon orange blossom water ( optional )

Instructions

1.Rinse the white rice with water 2-3 times and soak it in water for an hour.
2.In a pot, add soaked rice and water. Bring it to a boil over high heat, then reduce heat to low, cover the pot, and simmer for 15 minutes.
3.Add milk, sugar, cinnamon or nutmeg, and raisins (if using) to the pot, and stir to combine.
4.Cook till the milk has reduced and the pudding is of your desired consistency. Stir in rose water or orange blossom water.
5.Serve hot or cold, garnished with your choice of nuts and spices like pistachios, almonds, or saffron.
