Ingredients

2 1/4 lbs potatoes , boiled in their jackets the day before
2 -3 tablespoons butter ( a must )
1 -2 medium onion

Instructions

1.Peel the boiled potatoes and coarsely grate them.
2.In a cast-iron or non-stick skillet, heat butter over medium-high heat.
3.Add grated potatoes and finely chopped onions, sprinkle with salt and pat to form a cake.
4.Cook for 10 minutes until golden brown on one side.
5.Flip the rösti using a large plate and cook for another 10 minutes until golden brown on the other side.
6.Serve hot, garnished with fresh herbs or with sour cream.
