Rosca de Reyes is a traditional sweet bread that is usually served on January 6th, also known as the Three Kings Day or Epiphany Day. This holiday bread is shaped like a wreath or crown and has a hidden bean or small figurine inside. Whoever finds the bean or figurine in their slice is said to have good luck or be blessed. Rosca de Reyes is typically decorated with colorful candied fruit, representing the jeweled crowns of the Three Wise Men. This bread is perfect for sharing with friends and family, and it's a beloved tradition in many Latin American countries, as well as Spain and the Philippines.

Instructions

1.Cream butter and sugar until light and fluffy.
2.Add eggs one at a time, beating after each addition.
3.Add flour and baking powder, stirring until everything is well combined to form a dough.
4.Stir in vanilla extract and nuts.
5.Refrigerate the dough for 30 minutes.
6.Preheat your oven to 350°F; line a baking sheet with parchment paper or a silicone baking mat.
7.Mix brown sugar with aniseed, then sprinkle the mixture lightly over the surface where the dough will go.
