Ingredients

0.5 box ziti pasta
3/4 lb ground beef ( optional ) or 3/4 lb sausage ( optional )
3 cups marinara sauce ( my favorite is Rao 's )
1 3/4 cups ricotta cheese
2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
1 teaspoon dried basil
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/4 teaspoon ground black pepper
grated parmesan cheese
Ronzoni Baked Ziti is a classic Italian-American pasta dish that is filling, satisfying, and easy to make. This baked casserole is a combination of ziti pasta, marinara sauce, ground beef or sausage, ricotta cheese, and plenty of cheese. It is then baked in the oven until bubbly and cheesy, making it a winner among pasta lovers everywhere. Instructions

1.Preheat oven to 375°F.
2.Cook ziti per package instructions and drain.
3.In a skillet, cook ground beef (or sausage), salt, and pepper on medium-high heat until browned, then drain any fat.
4.Combine cooked ziti, beef (or sausage), marinara sauce, ricotta cheese, dried basil, and 1 cup of shredded mozzarella cheese in a bowl, mixing well.
5.Grease a 13x9 inch baking dish, then pour the pasta mixture into it.
6.Sprinkle remaining mozzarella cheese and grated parmesan on top.
7.Cover the baking dish with foil, then bake for 30 minutes. Remove the foil, then bake for another 20 minutes or until the cheese is golden and bubbly.
