15 quahogs , shucked and then chopped
2 loaves Italian bread ( day old bread )
2 tablespoons oil
2 medium onions , chopped
1/2 green pepper , chopped
2 -3 garlic cloves , minced
2 tablespoons crushed red pepper flakes
2 tablespoons parsley , chopped
paprika
margarine
1/2 lb portuguese chourice sausage ( optional )

Instructions

1.Preheat oven to 375°F.
2.Remove bread from the inside of each loaf and save the crusts for later.
3.In a large pan over medium heat, saute onions and green pepper in oil until soft and translucent for about 8 minutes. Then add garlic, chopped clams, parsley, and red pepper flakes. Cook for another 2 minutes and remove from heat.
4.Crumble the bread into small pieces and mix with clam mixture.
5.Stuff each bread shell with the mixture and top with margarine and paprika.
6.Bake on a baking sheet for 20 to 25 minutes, or until lightly browned on top.
