Instructions

1.In a large bowl, pour buttermilk over the rump roast until the roast is completely submerged.
2.Add 12 whole black peppercorns and 2 crushed and broken bay leaves to the buttermilk.
3.Cover the bowl with plastic wrap and refrigerate for 3-5 days, turning the roast once a day.
4.After marinating, remove the roast from the buttermilk and rinse off any excess.
5.Preheat the oven to 350°F.
6.In a Dutch oven, sauté 2 large sliced onions until tender.
7.Add 1 1/2 cups raisins, 12 whole peppercorns, and 2 bay leaves to the Dutch oven.
