3 cups apple juice
2/3 cup white sugar
2/3 cup slivered almonds
1/2 cup seedless raisin
2 quarts red wine
2 cinnamon sticks
24 whole cloves

Instructions

1.In a large pot, combine apple juice, 2/3 cup sugar, almonds, and raisins. Cook over low flame until sugar dissolves and mixture is heated through.
2.Add red wine, cinnamon sticks, and 24 cloves and continue to cook for another 10-15 minutes.
3.Strain the mixture and discard the almonds and raisins.
4.While the wine mixture is cooking, prepare the baked apples. Combine 18 tablespoons of sugar with a few sprinkles of cloves on a plate. Roll the cored apples in the sugar mixture and bake at 375°F for 20-25 minutes.
5.Place the baked apples in a punch bowl and pour the wine mixture over it.
