Ingredients

2 tablespoons lard
2 large onions , finely sliced
2 pounds beef chuck , cut into 1-inch cubes
2 tablespoons Hungarian paprika
1 cup water , or as needed
salt and ground black pepper to taste

Instructions

4.Pour in enough water to reach the top of the meat, and stir.
5.Bring the mixture to a boil, then reduce heat to medium-low and simmer until the beef is tender, about 2 hours.
6.Season with salt and pepper to taste.
