3 tablespoons butter or 3 tablespoons margarine
2 large eggs
1 egg ( for egg wash )
2 tablespoons milk ( for egg wash )
Quaresimoli is a classic Italian biscotti recipe. They are served in Italy during Easter and Lent time but can be enjoyed year-round. Instructions

1.Preheat oven to 350°F ( 175°C ).
2.Spread the almonds on a baking sheet and toast them in the oven for about 15 mins.
3.Allow the almonds to cool, then chop them in a food processor or with a knife.
4.In a large bowl, combine the flour, baking powder, cinnamon and brown sugar.
5.In a separate bowl, mix together the melted butter, eggs, and granulated sugar.
6.Gradually stir in the dry ingredients, followed by the chopped almonds.
7.Divide the dough into two equal parts, forming each half into a long log shape.
8.Place the dough on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper. Brush the egg-wash over the tops of the dough logs.
9.Bake until golden brown, about 25–30 minutes.
10.Let the logs cool for a few minutes, then slice into biscotti pieces. Place them back on the baking sheet and bake for another 10 mins.
