Ingredients

1 cup water
2 cups sweet white wine ( preferably Italian )
1/2 cup sugar
2 ripe pears , peeled seeded and halved
1/4 cup lemon-flavored liqueur ( recommend Caravella Limoncello )
mint , leaves to garnish
1 lb fresh strawberries , hulled and sliced
3/4 cup sugar
1 teaspoon orange liqueur ( Gran Gala )
1 teaspoon lemon juice
1 pomegranate , seeds only
1 dash grappa ( no subsitution )

Instructions

1.In a saucepan over medium heat, combine water, sweet white wine, sugar, and pears. Simmer for 20 minutes, or until pears are soft.
2.Remove pears from the saucepan and set them aside. Add the lemon-flavored liqueur and mint leaves to the remaining liquid, and then let it cool.
3.Puree sliced strawberries in a food processor or blender, then add sugar, orange liqueur, and lemon juice. Refrigerate for 30 minutes.
4.Combine pomegranate seeds and grappa.
5.Use a fork to scrape the frozen granita into a slush, and then spoon into dessert glasses. Add pear halves, and then top with the sorbetto.
6.Garnish with the strawberry puree around the bottom of the glass, top with pomegranate seeds, and then serve.
