Prince Charles Edward's Chicken is a Scottish dish named after Charles Edward Stuart, the Young Pretender who led the Jacobite rebellion against the British in 1745. The dish is known for its luxurious combination of chicken, cream, and drambuie, a sweet Scottish liqueur. The addition of apples brings a fruity and slightly sweet flavor, while the toasted almonds add some crunchiness. This dish is perfect for a special occasion or a romantic dinner.

Instructions

1.Preheat the oven to 375 F.
2.Slice the apples into small pieces.
3.Heat the butter in a skillet, then add the chicken and cook until browned, for about 5-10 minutes per side.
4.Remove the chicken from the skillet and set aside. In the same skillet, add the sliced apples and cook until they start to soften.
5.Sprinkle some flour into the skillet to thicken the sauce, then pour in the stock and drambuie, and stir well.
6.Return the chicken to the skillet and coat it with the sauce. Transfer the skillet to the oven and bake for 15-20 minutes until the chicken is fully cooked.
7.Toast the flaked almonds in a separate pan and sprinkle them over the chicken before serving.
