Ingredients

500 g flour
1 tablespoon sugar
42 g fresh yeast
200 ml water , lukewarm ( it should be as warm as your skin )
2 teaspoons salt
1 tablespoon butter
2 tablespoons baking powder
1 liter water
50 g baking soda
coarse salt
water , for the wok
Pretzel Kringels are a famous snack food in Germany that is usually enjoyed during parties or festivals. These delicious treats are also popular for being quick and easy to make in households. Instructions

1.In a big bowl mix the flour and sugar and create a well in the middle.
2.Add the fresh yeast into the well and top it with some lukewarm water.
3.Let it rest for 10-15 minutes.
4.Add the rest of the lukewarm water, salt, and melted butter to the yeast mixture.
5.Mix well until the dough comes together and knead it for about 10 minutes.
6.Let the dough rest for about 30 minutes to an hour until it has doubled in size.
7.Preheat the oven to 200°C (fan), 220°C, gas 7, prepare the baking sheet and line it with grease proof paper.
8.In a large pot, dissolve the baking soda in the water and boil.
9.Cut the dough into 6 equal pieces.
10.Roll each piece of dough into long ropes and shape them into pretzel kringels leaving enough space for the dough to expand during baking.
11.Drop a few pretzel kringels into the pot of boiling water and remove them with a slotted spoon once they float to the surface.
12.Place them on the lined baking sheet.
13.Sprinkle the coarse salt over each pretzel kringel and slash the thickest part of the dough with a sharp knife.
14.Bake for 15-20 minutes until golden and crispy.
15.Serve with sweet or spicy mustard dip.
