1 cup butter , softened ( or margarine )
3/4 cup sugar ( remove 2 Tablespoons of sugar & set aside )
2 egg yolks
2 cups flour , sifted
3/4 teaspoon salt
1/4 cup sherry wine
1/4 teaspoon cinnamon
Portuguese Cinnamon Wreaths are a delightful pastry that is sweet and flavorful. It’s called ‘Rosas de canela’ in Portuguese, which means ‘Cinnamon Roses’. These wreaths are made with simple ingredients and can be enjoyed with your morning coffee. The taste is heavenly as its aroma fills the whole kitchen while baking. Instructions

1.Beat butter, 3/4 cup sugar and egg yolks together in a mixing bowl until creamy and soft.
2.Sift flour and salt together in another mixing bowl and gradually add to creamy mixture with stirring.
3.Add sherry wine and cinnamon to the mixture. Mix until it creates a soft dough.
4.Roll the dough into a log and cut it into 1 inch circles. Coil each circle into a wreath shape.
5.Mix remaining 2 tablespoons of sugar and some cinnamon, sprinkle the mixture on the wreaths.
6.Preheat oven to 350 degrees and bake for 20 minutes.
