Ingredients

4 thick pork chops
1/4 cup olive oil
2 green peppers , sliced
1/2 lb sliced mushroom
2 teaspoons minced garlic
1 can diced tomato
1 can tomato sauce
1/2 cup white wine
2 teaspoons oregano
salt and pepper
Pork chops are a classic main dish that can be prepared a number of different ways. In this recipe, we take bone-in pork chops and sear them in a skillet before finishing them in the oven with a flavorful oregano wine sauce. The green peppers and mushrooms add some depth to the dish, and the sauce comes together quickly and easily. Instructions

1.Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
2.Season the pork chops on both sides with salt and black pepper.
3.In a large skillet over medium-high heat, heat 2 tablespoons of the olive oil.
4.When hot, add the pork chops and sear for about 2-3 minutes per side, or until nicely browned. Remove and set aside.
5.Using the same skillet, add the green peppers and sliced mushroom. Cook for about 3-4 minutes, or until the vegetables are softened.
6.Add the minced garlic, diced tomato, tomato sauce, white wine, and oregano to the skillet. Mix well to combine.
7.Bring the mixture to a simmer and let cook for about 5 minutes, or until the sauce has thickened.
8.Return the pork chops to the skillet, spooning the sauce over the top.
9.Cover the skillet with a lid or foil and transfer it to the oven.
10.Bake the pork chops for about 15-20 minutes, or until cooked through.
