1 lemon
1 cinnamon stick
2 tablespoons orange-flavored liqueur
1 tablespoon cornstarch
1 pomegranate , seeded
12 fresh mint sprigs ( optional )

Instructions

1.In a medium saucepan, combine the milk, eggs, egg yolk, sugar, and vanilla extract.

4.Wash and peel the pears. Cut off the bottoms and reserve them.
5.In a large pot, bring the pomegranate juice, brown sugar, lemon, cinnamon stick, and orange-flavored liqueur to a boil.
6.Lower the heat and add the reserved pear bottoms and the pears. Cover and simmer until the pears are tender but not mushy.
7.Remove the pot from the heat and allow the pears to cool in the liquid.
8.In a small bowl, whisk together the cornstarch and 2 tablespoons of the liquid from the pot until smooth.
9.Pour the mixture into the pot and stir until the liquid thickens.
10.Remove the pot from heat and discard the cinnamon stick and lemon.
11.To serve, spoon some of the sauce onto each plate. Place a pear on top and drizzle with the Creme Anglaise. Garnish with pomegranate seeds and mint leaves (optional).
