Ingredients

2 cups sugar
1 cinnamon stick , broken in half
4 ripe pears ( peeled , stem intact )
1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
1/2 cup caramel sauce ( purchased is fine )
Poached pears with cinnamon caramel is a light and refreshing dessert that is perfect for any occasion. Instructions

1.In a large saucepan, combine 6 cups of water and 2 cups of sugar. Add the cinnamon stick halves and bring to a boil over medium-high heat.
2.Reduce the heat to low and add the peeled pears with the stem intact.
3.Simmer for 15-20 minutes or until the pears are tender when pierced with a fork.
4.Remove the pears with a slotted spoon and transfer to a serving dish.
5.In a small bowl, combine 1/2 teaspoon of ground cinnamon with 1/2 cup of caramel sauce. Mix well.
6.Drizzle the cinnamon caramel sauce over the poached pears and serve.
