3 very ripe plantains
1/3 cup white sugar
1/3 cup brown sugar
3 tablespoons dry white wine
2 short cinnamon sticks
1/8 teaspoon ground cinnamon
3 tablespoons unsalted butter

Instructions

1.Preheat the oven to 375 F or 190 C.
2.Peel the plantains and cut in half, then in half again, lengthwise. Place them in a baking dish.
3.In a saucepan over medium heat, melt the sugar, cinnamon sticks and dry white wine, stirring occasionally, until the sugar dissolves.
4.Pour the mixture over the plantains.
5.Cut the butter into small pieces and sprinkle over the plantains.
6.Sprinkle the ground cinnamon on top.
7.Bake in the oven for about 15 minutes. Spoon the sauce over the plantains.
8.Turn the plantains over and spoon more sauce over them. Bake for another 15 minutes or until golden brown.
