Ingredients

1/2 lb lean ground beef
1 small onion , finely chopped
1 hard-cooked egg , finely chopped
1 tablespoon fresh dill weed ( you can use 1 teaspoon dried dill or parsley ) or 1 tablespoon parsley ( you can use 1 teaspoon dried dill or parsley )
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/8 teaspoon black pepper
3/4 cup butter or 3/4 cup margarine , softened
2 cups all-purpose flour
1 teaspoon salt
1/2 cup low-fat sour cream
1 egg yolk
1 tablespoon cold water
Piroszhki is a traditional Russian pastry that can be made with a variety of fillings. This particular recipe uses lean ground beef, onion, and egg for a delicious savory snack. Instructions

1.In a skillet, cook ground beef and onion until beef is browned and onion is tender. Drain.
2.Stir in egg, dill weed, 1/2 teaspoon salt, and pepper; set aside.
3.In a large bowl, beat butter with an electric mixer on medium speed for 30 seconds.
4.Add flour and 1 teaspoon salt. Beat until well mixed.
5.Add sour cream. Mix until combined.
6.On a floured surface, knead until smooth.
7.Divide dough in half.
8.Roll each portion into a 15-inch circle.
9.Cut each circle into 4-inch squares.
10.Place a heaping tablespoon of beef filling in the center of each square.
11.Bring 2 opposite corners of the pastry together over filling.
12.Pinch edges together.
13.Repeat with remaining squares.
14.Place pastries on an ungreased baking sheet.
15.In a small bowl, mix egg yolk and cold water.
16.Brush over pastries.
17.Bake at 375F for 20 to 25 minutes, or until golden. Serve warm.
