Ingredients

4 tablespoons oil
120 ml oil
1 medium onion , roughly chopped
6 cloves plump garlic , crushed
1 1/2 teaspoons grated ginger
3 tablespoons tomato puree
1 can tomatoes , cut into chunks
1 tablespoon salt
1 1/2 teaspoons coriander powder
1/2 teaspoon turmeric
1 1/2 teaspoons garam masala
1 lemon , juice of
1 teaspoon curry powder
1 1/2 teaspoons chili powder or 1 1/2 teaspoons hot red chili seeds
Piri-Piri (Chilli Dip) is a spicy and tangy dip that originated in Portugal. It is traditionally used as a marinade for grilled chicken, but it can also be used as a condiment for a variety of dishes. This dip is made with a combination of spices, tomato puree, and oil that creates a smooth and creamy texture. The heat level of this dip can be adjusted based on how much chili powder is used. Instructions

1.In a large saucepan, heat 4 tablespoons of oil over medium heat.
2.Add the onions and garlic and sauté until golden brown.
3.Add the grated ginger and sauté for another minute.
4.Add the tomato puree, canned tomatoes, salt, coriander powder, turmeric, garam masala, lemon juice, curry powder, and chili powder. Stir well.
5.Simmer the mixture for 20-30 minutes, stirring occasionally.
6.Once the sauce has thickened, remove from heat and let it cool.
7.Blend the mixture until it reaches a smooth consistency.
8.With the blender still running, slowly add in 120 ml oil until the mixture emulsifies.
9.Your Piri-Piri (Chilli Dip) is ready to be served!
