Ingredients

1 cup chapati flour or 1 cup whole wheat flour
1 cup unbleached all-purpose flour , plus additional for dusting
6 tablespoons light vegetable oil , such as safflower or soybean ( or as needed )
2/3 cup warm water , as needed
1/2 cup chopped scallion , green tops only
1 -2 teaspoon fresh coarse ground black pepper
1 teaspoon salt ( optional )

Instructions

1.In a bowl, mix chapati flour, all-purpose flour, black pepper, and salt.
2.Slowly add 4 tablespoons oil and mix.
3.Add water gradually and knead until the dough is smooth.

5.Make a small ball from the dough and use all-purpose flour to dust and roll into a thin circle.
6.Add chopped scallions, and then roll it into a round shape.
7.Grease a frying pan and turn on medium heat.
8.Put the dough on the frying pan and brush oil, cook for 2-3 minutes on each side until the bread turns golden brown in color.
