Peshwari Nan Bread is a popular bread in India and is usually served alongside spicy curries and stews. The bread is soft and fluffy on the inside, but what sets it apart is the filling of nuts and spices that give it a unique flavor and texture. The bread is made with natural yoghurt and is flavored with a mixture of cumin seeds, anise seeds, pistachio nuts, and almonds, which are then wrapped inside the bread dough and baked to golden perfection. The bread can be eaten on its own or with a bit of butter or chutney.

Instructions

1.In a large bowl, mix the yeast, sugar, salt, and baking powder with the milk and warm water. Let it sit for 10 minutes until it becomes frothy.
2.Add the flour, beaten egg, yoghurt, and oil to the yeast mixture and knead until it forms a smooth dough.
3.Let the dough rest in a warm place for 45 minutes until it doubles in size.
4.Divide the dough into 8 equal portions and flatten each with your hands.
5.Sprinkle the cumin seeds, anise seed, pistachio nuts, and almonds on top of the flattened dough, and then wrap the dough around the filling to form a ball.
6.Flatten the balls to about 1/4 inch thickness, and then bake in the preheated oven at 400°F for 10-15 minutes until they turn golden brown.
