Ingredients

1 3/4 cups water
1/4 cup red lentils ( masoor dal )
1/4 cup yellow split peas ( moong dal )
1 teaspoon salt
1 clove garlic , minced
1 teaspoon ground ginger
2 dried red chile peppers
2 tablespoons ghee ( clarified butter )
1 teaspoon mustard seeds
1 onion , diced

Instructions

1.In a pressure cooker, add water, red lentils, yellow split peas, salt, garlic, ginger, and dried red chilli
2.Mix everything together and close the lid. Cook until 4-5 whistles come in.
3.Wait for the steam to release and open the pressure cooker lid.
4.In a pan, heat the ghee and add mustard seeds
5.Let it splutter and add onion. Sauté for 2-3 minutes until onions are translucent.
6.Now, pour the cooked lentil mixture into the pan and mix everything
7.Let it simmer for 5-10 minutes until it reaches the desired consistency
