The dish is made up of layers of mashed potatoes, tuna, avocado, onions, and hard-boiled eggs, all seasoned with aji amarillo and olive oil. Causa is known for its distinct yellow color, which comes from the use of aji amarillo, a Peruvian chili pepper. The resulting dish is hearty, healthy, and full of flavor, making it a perfect option for anyone looking for a nutritious and satisfying meal.

Instructions

1.Boil the potatoes in a large pot of salted water until soft, about 20-25 minutes. Drain and let cool.

3.In a separate bowl, mix the tuna with half of the mayonnaise. Add salt and pepper to taste.
4.Assemble the dish by spreading half of the mashed potatoes on a serving dish. Top with the tuna mix, then the sliced red onions, then the sliced avocado, and finally the hard boiled eggs.
5.Cover with the remaining mashed potatoes and garnish with some cilantro leaves and the rest of the mayonnaise. Chill in the fridge for at least an hour before serving.
