Ingredients

2 tablespoons lard , you can use Crisco , but the lard is better
1 egg , beaten
1 1/3 cups water , divided
6 tart apples , peeled , cored and cut into thicker slices , but not too thickes , then
1/2 cup brown sugar
3 tablespoons butter

Instructions

1.Preheat the oven to 450°F.

10.Dot the top of the apples with butter.
11.Place the squares of dough on top of the apples, with slight overlapping.
12.Brush the dough with the remaining water.
13.Bake for 15-20 minutes, or until the crust is golden brown. Serve warm.
