Ingredients

1 cup peanuts
1 medium onion , sliced
3 -4 green chilies , halfed
marble sized tamarind pod
1 teaspoon mustard
1 teaspoon Urad Dal
1 pinch asafoetida powder
3 -5 teaspoons oil
salt

Instructions

1.Roast peanuts in a pan on medium heat until they turn light brown and the skin starts peeling off.

3.Add salt and roast for a couple of minutes.
4.Let the mixture cool and transfer to a blender, add a little water, and grind it into a coarse paste.
5.For the tempering, heat 2-3 teaspoons of oil in a pan and add mustard, urad dal, and asafoetida powder. Let the mustard crackle and add the tempering to the chutney.
6.Mix well and serve with dosa, idli, or any other South Indian delicacy.
