2 garlic cloves , peeled & crushed
1 tablespoon coriander
1 tablespoon cumin
1 tablespoon turmeric
1 inch gingerroot , peeled & grated
1 green chili pepper , chopped
4 cardamom pods , crushed
500 g passata
4 cloves

400 g mango chutney

Instructions

1.Heat vegetable oil in a large pot over medium heat.
2.Add chicken and cook for 5-7 minutes until browned on all sides.
3.Add onions and garlic, and cook for 3-5 minutes until softened.
4.Add coriander, cumin, turmeric, gingerroot, green chili pepper, and cardamom pods to the pot and stir for 1-2 minutes.
5.Add passata, cloves, salt, and mango chutney to the pot and stir well.
6.Bring to a boil, then reduce heat and simmer for 20-25 minutes stirring occasionally.
7.Serve hot with rice or naan bread.
